Participation Eligibility

Eligible participants are defined as Students Currently Attending a Japanese Junior High School with a Recommendation from the School Principal. Students who have received past education in countries with English as an official language may not be eligible for participation.

Speech Contest Rules

  1. No rule limits set for speech topic selection; students must prepare an original speech with their own opinion/assertion and the speech content must be entirely new (previously orated speeches are not accepted)
  2. The time limit is 5 minutes
  3. Microphones (and any other audio-related equipment) are not allowed

Purchasing Contest Memorabilia

During the Prince Takamado Trophy Contest, participants and other individuals involved can buy contest memorabilia. The details of how to purchase contest memorabilia are to be announced.

All-Japan Junior High School Student Oriention/Get-Together Event

The All-Japan Junior High School Student Orientation/Get-Together Event will take place at the accommodation starting from the day before the contest commences and will last for four days. All contest participants are encouraged to join numerous orientation-related and ice-breaking events, which will be organized by current JNSA Fund members. These events provide an excellent opportunity for contest participants to interact with their peers and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

All-Japan English Teacher/Educator Conference

During the contest period, selected members of the judging panel will be invited to deliver informal lectures/talks. A Q&A session will also be organized, and all participants are encouraged to actively share their opinions with the panel members. Parents and teachers of the contestants are warmly welcome to participate in these sessions as well.
